Sales Strategies - The Big Question

The single biggest question I am getting from businesses both large and small from professional services to plumbing is “What sales strategy should we employ in the current economy?”

While everyone has different circumstances my top five tips based on having been through a couple of rollercoaster rides is the following:

  1. Lock down Key Accounts – losing any business is bad but losing a key account is not good in this market.
  2. Re visit old prospects – Go back to old prospects or lost business with new ideas or new products. Be innovative.
  3. Look for new business – go on the acquisition path as number three and only after one and two have been done
  4. Get efficient – use this time to become more efficient and to streamline systems. Now is great time to invest in tools like CRM
  5. Get better – use this time to train staff members in new ideas, new products or skill development

Having Trouble Getting Through?
Miller Heiman

Key buyers are more time poor than ever. However they are still interested in people with great ideas that make them more money or make their lives easier. The key is getting your message across so you can get an appointment.

Securing Strategic Appointments is a new 1/2 day workshop that is being run in Melbourne on June 17th by myself and in Sydney on June 25th by my experienced colleague Eddie Smith.

(The program was run successfully in Australia in April and in North America to wide acclaim).

Even better news is that Miller Heiman are offering the workshop at a 15% end of financial year discount which makes the attendance fee just $1,170 +GST p/p.

Speaking

The last month has been a busy one for speaking engagements. In May I spoke to business owners in NSW at the Inner West Business Expo for the BEC, Bosch Automotive in Canberra, Carrier in Melbourne, Social Media & Marketing in Melbourne and National Volunteer Week in Melbourne. Miller Heiman

Please email me at rob@sellingstrategies.com.au regarding speaking enquiries or via your favourite speaking bureau.

Rather be dead than on stage?

Miller Heiman
Yes some people would rather be dead than get up and speak. Whether you are speaking to your own team, doing a business pitch, speaking at a trade show or to an industry forum you need speaking skills.

Our program Performance Presentations has been run across Australia and recently in the USA and delivers outstanding results in a warm environment.
